Non-Chromate Conversion Coating
Our Non-Chromate Conversion Coating is an innovative approach
of applying a protective oxide coating on aluminum alloys.
This process can be offered in various pre-finishes (bright
or matte) and can be dyed in virtually any color. Unlike anodizing,
this coating is conductive, which makes it an excellent finish
for electrical and electronic components.
Our Non-Chromate Conversion Coating is imperceptibly thin
and retains the natural brilliance of aluminum. Due to these
characteristics, it offers tremendous flexibility without
hazing or cracking, yet the colors are uniform and non-iridescent.
This process is ideally suited for high volume production.
Unlike anodizing, which is an electrochemical process, our
Non-Chromate Conversion Coating is an immersion coating. Items
that conventional bulk anodizing are considered impractical
or too costly may be suitable for this process.
This oxide coating penetrates the aluminum surface; it will
not chip or peel. Because of these characteristics, this coating
can be offered as a pre-finish for paint, lacquer, or other
organic coatings. Topcoats can be offered to enhance characteristics
already present in the coating such as improved lubricity
and durability.
If your goal is to achieve an affordable, cosmetic appearing
coating, which is metal free, this process may be what you
require. Our technical staff will be able to assist you with
determining this decision.
